By far LeatherUp.com leads all websites when it comes to price, selection, and customer Service. They do generally get swamped during the holiday season with high number of calls (mainly because they are the webs most popular online leather store, word of mouth is a powerful thing) but they have been online for 5 years and 95% of the people who purchased leather products from Leatherup.com were astonished by the quality of the product. What is their secret, well it’s very simple. They are the actual manufacturer of their own leather products and leather goods. All the products come directly from their own factory, so you avoid paying the middlemen fee hikes.

The leather jacket we got from LeatherUp.com was made of very high quality and I would have definitely expected to pay 2-3 times as much at a local mall. When you buy items direct from the real manufacturers they are not that expensive, this is what we discovered. We got a pair of Leatherup.com regular biker boots and a pair of their Harley Davidson boot and were amazed to find their own Brand was a higher or same quality then what Harley Davidson boots offered (boot barn). Also their prices on Harley Boots are the lowest we found online mainly because they buy in such large quantities they get a big discount and pass it along to the customers. Leatherup.com also offers some unique products like a full military and patriotic jackets section, womens boots, leather vests, motorcycle jacket, and much more. They are the most popular online leather shopping store and now we see why.

Sites to avoid: Sites that sell Giovanni Navarro or Giovanni Navarre brand, these jackets are made of small pieces of used leather put together (but they often never mention this). The jackets often fall apart and smell awful. Also avoid Maxam Brand who make Giovanni Navarro or Giovanni Navarre Italian Stone leather. Their is nothing Italian about their leather jackets besides looking cheap. The sites that sell these brands generally are small mom an pop leather sites so they don’t really know what they carry so don’t bother buying anything from them. They generally carry other products they drop ship from other firms and their is no one to contact if things go wrong.

Avoid sites that do not have an 800 number. The sites that have 800 numbers we discovered are larger firms who generally carry their own inventory and know their products, a big plus when dealing with leather products

The next site that we thought did a great job was foxcreekleather.com They deal mainly with the high end expensive motorcycle and biker jacket market. Most their products are made in the U.S. but the prices are very high. Yes, you could buy similar Motorcycle Jackets from Leatherup.com for probably 80% less and not notice much of a difference but Foxcreekleather leather jackets are basically for the hard core rider that wants and ultra heavy and high quality product. Their moto is American Made Leathers with a Lifetime Guarantee. But you have to pay a high price for this deal, well worth it for the hardcore riders. Great site and service however their selection is no were as wide as Leatherup.com because Fox Creek is a niche motorcycle gear leather site. They also have a good offering of classic biker gloves.

Notice both Leatherup.com and Foxcreekleather have 800 numbers. Have been in business for over 5 years. And both get very high grade as far as quality and dependability of their product and service. We did looked at other sites but they were not worth the mention. Most leather sites basically drop ship items from third party vendors and in some cases from Leatherup.com and FoxcreekLeather, and are not manufacturers like LeatherUp.com and Foxcreekleather so the price advantage and quality ratio is no longer their.
